There are plenty of staycations you can enjoy here in the UK - no jet lag in sight. We've tracked down some of the healthiest staycations around that are sure to make your summer special, so check them out!

#1. Champney's Spa Weekend

A pamper at a spa is a great way to relax and indulge on your holiday, without overdoing it on food or booze! Champneys has been the choice for luxury spa breaks for decades, so why not treat yourself with a long weekend away? Their Inner Strength treatment has to be our favourite - you'll enjoy a frankincense steam inhalation treatment, folllowed by a foot, hand, head and back massage for ultimate relaxation. If you've recently been stressed or gone through a traumatic event such as a breakup, then this is the treatment for you! You'll also find steam rooms, pools and plenty of other luxurious facilities at all their UK locations. Visit their website for more details - the Inner Strength treatment costs from £45.

#2. Somersault Festival

You're just in time to book tickets for Devon's Somersault Festival, running from 23rd to 27th July this year. This festival is as much about music as it is about healthy, outdoor living - so let's hope the sun is shining. You can pick up day or weekend tickets, and with headliners this year including Bombay Bicycle Club and Passenger, this is one festival you won't want to miss. Make sure you leave some time for the other events too, which include wellbeing events such as signature facials and massages, Tai Chi, yoga classes, games and outward bound treks and hikes. If you're into fitness and wellbeing, this is the event of the summer!

#3. Wild Fitness

If you want to take your fitness bootcamp to the next level, a staycation on the Isle of Wight with Wild Fitness is the perfect choice. Four-day holidays cost from £725 and Wild Fitness take a holistic approach to health and fitness. You'll dine on healthy organic food grown in the on-site walled garden, and have the chance to try something new. Activities include runs, boxing classes, soothing sports massages, beach games, cooking lessons and natural movement circuits. So if you're looking for a healthy activity holiday that will leave you feeling re-energised and rejuvenated, this is definitely our recommendation!

#4. Yoga Retreat

How does a weekend of yoga in the Cotswolds sound? With Reclaim Yourself yoga retreats, you'll enjoy twice-daily yoga sessions, as well as a wide range of optional activities including walking, hiking, nutritional advice and soothing massage and therapies. Breathing and meditation practice is included, so you'll return from your break feeling complete serene and happy - great if you're new to yoga or just want to dedicate a few days solely to your practice.

#5. Coasteering in Wales

The ultimate adrenaline adventure (not for the faint-hearted!), coasteering provides you with a challenge you won't quickly forget! It dates back over 100 years, to when explorers would climb their way across rocky coastal cliffs, and today it's every bit as difficult and challenging as it was back then - just with a bit more safety equipment. If you're bored of bungee jumping and tired of other adrenaline sports, this is the holiday for you. You'll explore the Pembrokeshire coast National Park - fling yourself off sheer rock faces, swim with seals and explore sea caves. You might even come home with a suntan. Prices start from £225 for a two-night break.

#6. South-East Surfing

How does a seaside surfing break sound? Sun, sea sand - maybe even an ice cream. Book a break at The Old Rectory in Hastings and not only will you enjoy a luxurious stay in this tiny B & B (there are only five bedrooms), you'll also be close to the great British seaside and the opportunity to try your hand at surfing - even if you've never tried it before! Why not book some kitesurfing lessons at the Kitesurf Centre? Little touches such as the claw foot bath tubs, sun-trap walled garden (great for evening drinks) and the no small children policy ensure this will be a really relaxing staycation - and it's just an hour and a half's drive from Gatwick Airport.

Whatever you get up to this year, you don't need to go abroad to do it. Have a fantastic summer - and Tweet us, we'd love to hear what you're doing with your summer!
