5 Ways to channel some feel-good vibes
Spirituality has become more of a mainstream thing nowadays - more people than ever before are embracing yoga, meditation, aromatherapy and even green smoothies! What's good for your soul is generally good for your body (and your overall health). Particularly during the winter months we can all start to feel a bit tired, worn out and overloaded, so we've got 5 ways you can channel some feel-good vibes - try one, or try them all!
#1. Try aromatherapy
Most of us love to smell good and the power of scent is not to be underestimated. Aromatherapy is easy to incorporate into your daily life to give you a boost. Essential oils such as lavender, rosemary and lemon not only smell amazing, they have amazing benefits for your health too! Use lavender oil to help you relax, unwind or get a great night's sleep, rosemary to bring mental clarity and give you a concentration boost and lemon when you need to feel uplifted. Apply a drop to your pulse points (we don't recommend this if you have particularly sensitive skin), add a few drops to a warm bath, or use an oil burner to diffuse the scent into your home. Ahh!
#2. Read some mantras
Mantras are groups of words with spiritual power - they have the power to calm, heal, motivate or inspire! Recently mantras and positive affirmations have been everywhere thanks to social media and chances are you have read one somewhere, at some point or another. They are an easy way to bring positivity to your daily life - check out some of these!
#3. Redecorate your home - Feng Shui style
Feng Shui (it's pronounced 'Fung Shway') is an ancient Chinese philosophical system which helps you to harmonise your environment by changing the placement of furniture and other objects in your home to correct the flow of energy. Things like not having the head of your bed directly in front of a door are said to benefit your health and well-being; and if nothing else it's an excuse to transform your room by moving things around! You'll find plenty of tips online to bring some Zen to your bedroom, living room - even your home office.
#4. Practice yoga
Gone are the days when yoga was only practised by a select few - today it is more popular and accessible than ever before and it's a great way to keep fit, relax and focus. A complete workout for your mind and body, practising yoga also usually incorporates meditation - ideal if you're feeling stressed and need a break from your busy day. Check out our bedtime yoga workout for an effortless (well, almost) feel-good end to your day. Namaste!
#5. Don't fear self-help
Feeling depressed, confused or worn out? Talking to friends and family can help, but self-help books are a great way to get the answers you need whilst taking positive steps to help yourself. There's no need to hide your self-helps books away either - everyone is reading them nowadays and they're ideal if you're looking to channel some feel-good vibes. Spend an evening reading a self-help book, perhaps with a cup of tea, and you'll wake up feeling positive and motivated tomorrow!
