Where:

250 Camden High Street, Camden Lock, NW1 8QS

The verdict:

If you're into knowing where your food comes from - ethical eating - then inSpiral Lounge in Camden Lock will be right up your street. Camden Lock already has a cool, eco-friendly vibe and the canal-side views kick things up a notch. With most of their ingredients sourced locally and/or organic and fair trade, you can dine here guilt-free for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's affordable for those on a budget too, with dishes starting from just £2.60 and a range of smoothies and juices available. All dishes are 100% gluten-free with a raw foods menu on offer, if that's your thing. The menu is also 100% plant-based, with no MSG or refined sugar in sight! Why not treat yourself to a vegan cocktail, whilst you're here?

Our favourites:

Try the Inspiral veggie burger if you're feeling really hungry - it's loaded with vegetables! Or get stuck into the Vietnamese Tofu and Cabbage Rolls, for an Asian-influenced dish. Don't forget to check out the shop for kale chips and other healthy snacks before you leave.

The verdict:

Renowned as one of London's finest vegetarian restaurants, Vanilla Black boasts a Michelin-recommended menu and is the only gourmet vegetarian restaurant we've come across in the city! Forget veggie burgers and salads, the menu here is exciting and experimental, with two courses setting you back £31. Established in 2004, the service at Vanilla Black is relaxed and friendly, with staff happy to recommend dishes if you're unsure what to try!

Our favourites:

The yellow pea soup with marmite dumplings and onion puree is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it affair - we love it! The goats cheese, fennel pollen and pistachio with apple puree, served with fennel and rainbow chard is a highlight when it comes to mains. You definitely won't leave hungry!

When it comes to healthy eating, Nama have it sussed - their menu is packed with unprocessed, raw, organic, vegan food that's also gluten free! Prices start from just £6, so it's easy to eat healthily on a tight budget here. Tucked away in bohemian Notting Hill, Nama is a raw food oasis in the heart of the city, so whether you're new to raw food and want to give it a go or are committed to eating a 100% raw food diet, give it a try! They also offer cleanse programmes and raw food courses, ideal if you want to get into making your own dishes at home.

Our favourites:

The zucchini noodles with pomodoro sauce, mushrooms, onions and olives is pretty amazing, or for an Asian option, try the creamy Thai coconut curry that's packed with vegetables! There are even guilt-free desserts on offer - fermented mocha cheesecake anyone?

The verdict:

Showcasing wild foraged food, the Wild Food Cafe in Neal's yard is one of our favourite veggie eating spots in London. You'll find vegan and veggie dishes, with a focus on raw, unprocessed ingredients, and a beautiful, holistic setting to sit and enjoy your food! There's even a shop where you can pick up ingredients to make your own healthy meals and snacks at home, if you're feeling inspired! Dishes start from £4.50, so there's something to suit all budgets.

Our favourites:

For snacking, the in-house hummus and organic sourdough bread is pretty hard to beat, but Wild Food Cafe's salads are out of this world! The Ayurvedic Super Salad is packed with goodness and enough vegetables to easily meet and exceed your five-a-day! With wild rocket, amaranth, lambs lettuce, seaweed, courgetti spaghetti, artichoke hearts, avocado, red pepper, cucumber, home-made pesto, mango salsa, mushrooms and coriander, it's soooo tasty - just try it, and let us know what you think! Did we mention the desserts on offer? We think their raw lemon tart is the perfect treat, with an almond, date and coconut crust and raw cashew, lemon and coconut mousse topping. Yum!

The restaurant offers a la carte and set menus, with Middle-Eastern mezze platters perfect for sharing if you're socialising with friends.

Our favourites:

We love the Vietnamese rolls with smoked tofu, cucumber, mango, mint and alfalfa sprouts. The Aubergine Teriyaki is amazing - chargrilled and breaded aubergine with coriander pesto, roasted red peppers, horseradish and shitake mushrooms, served on a bed of noodles. Side dishes include delicious and vitamin C-packed sauteed kale or asparagus and samphire - a great way to get your five a day! Why not pick up their Easy Vegetarian Cookbook in the shop before you leave, or book a place at one of the upcoming cookery classes?
